Offer by Utrecht University
Utrecht University (UU) reserves a number of furnished accommodations with the SSH especially for its international students, PhD’s, staff and guests. The number of accommodations is limited, and is offered on a first come, first served basis. Registration is free. Only when you submit a reservation, you are charged a reservation fee. International students, PhD’s, staff and guests of Utrecht University pay a reservation fee of 75 euros.
When can I book accommodation?
Bachelor, Master, Exchange students
Are you a UU exchange or degree student starting in September 2018? It is not yet possible to register for this period yet. You can register for housing for the next academic year later in May. The exact starting date will be published here. PLEASE NOTE: Do not register for another semester, do not register as another resident type and don’t register with another school. This will delay your housing registration and will decrease your chances of successfully booking accommodation.
PhD, staff & guests
PhD, staff & guests of UU can register 4 months before the desired start of the rental period.

International students who enroll in the first year of an English taught degree program.
International staff and guests
International, staff or working guests (temporarily) affiliated to Utrecht University for the purpose of working activities, including post graduate researchers, visiting teachers and professors, interns, etc.
International PhD-candidates who are (temporarily) affiliated to Utrecht University for the purpose of working activities.
All accommodations are only available for students, PhD’s, staff and guests who do not yet live in the Netherlands. It is not available for international students who enroll in a Dutch taught program and it is not available for students, PhD’s, staff and guests who have the Dutch nationality.
Rental agreement & Rental periods
SSH accommodation reserved for Utrecht University can be rented for a fixed period only. When you reserve accommodation, you will sign a rental agreement with a maximum length of twelve months. The rent price for these accommodations is all-inclusive. The upcoming fixed rental periods are:
Exchange students who enroll in September 2017
Fall semester (5 months): August 30, 2017 – January 31, 2018
Full year (10 months): August 30, 2017 – June 30, 2018
Bachelor’s & Masters´s students (degree seeking) who enroll in September 2017
Full year (12 months): August 30, 2017 – August 29, 2018
Staff, guests and PhD’s
A minimum period of one calendar month and a maximum period of twelve calendar months, starting the first day of the month and ending the last day of the month.

How to apply
First you need to register for ‘reserved accommodation’ on this website. Your university will receive a notification once you have completed your registration. Your university will review your registration and approve it if correct. After approval by your university (you will be informed by email), you can log in to My SSH and reserve an accommodation. In order to finalize your reservation, you will be asked to make a down payment. The down payment consists of the rent for the first and the last month, the reservation fee and a cleaning fee. The down payment is non-refundable.
You will be informed about the key pick up procedure approximately 3-4- weeks before the start date of your rental agreement.
