The beautiful building 'Miquelhuis' is located in the historical centre of Utrecht, alongside a lovely and quiet canal 'Nieuwegracht'. Shops, restaurants and bars are all conveniently located at walking distance.
In this 18th century historic building, we have furnished and decorated 6 apartments for international guests of Utrecht University. In 1723, Utrecht University bought this manor and the Hortus Botanicus of the University established themselves in the manor gardens. For centuries, students were taught about plants in these gardens. The building at Nieuwegracht 187 used to be the director's residence of the Professor Director of the Hortus Botanicus and is named after one of its inhabitants who used to live there, Professor Miquel, a famous professor in Botany.
The building has 3 storeys. There are 6 apartments situated at the Miquelhuis; two on the ground floor, two on the 1st floor and two on the 2nd floor. The apartments vary in size from 66m2 to 105 m2. At the back of the building there is a little patio garden for communal use. Here you can sit outside and enjoy the sun! The apartments all have a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room.
