Johanna is the very newest student complex which the SSH has built on the Bisschopssteeg in Utrecht Science Park (De Uithof). Here 655 students live in the clouds! It is a stunning building, with a facade covered with authentic blue and white tiles from the famous ceramics manufacturer Royal Tichelaar Makkum.
De Uithof/ Utrecht Science Park
Utrecht Science Park provides a vibrant, dynamic and exciting place to work, to study and to live. There are about 60.000 visitors everyday! The area is in constant development. In 2016-2017 HU University of Applied Sciences has started the construction of a new building next to Bisschoppen/Salamancapad. This year work also started on The Uithof Tram Line. The Uithof Tram Line will serve as the main transport link for Utrecht Science Park. As of 2019, the tram will connect Utrecht Central Station with Utrecht Science Park by means of an 11-minute service. This construction work will cause noise nuisance for people living in the vicinity.

Facilities in Johanna
We have realized various facilities in the building. In the large entrance hall on the ground floor there is a laundrette (De Waskamer). This is the place where you can do your laundry in professional, energy efficient washers and dryers. It is not possible to do your laundry in your apartment. The ground floor also offers a study area; a perfect place to sit down with your laptop while enjoying a nice cup of coffee from The Village Coffee, the best in town!
There are several outdoor areas: a large communal terrace at ground level at the back of the building and one on the 11th floor, with an excellent view of Utrecht and the forest of Amelisweerd.
Johanna offers a car sharing project: Johanna's Wheels. All tenants can use these cars. There are no parking places at Johanna. It is only possible to park it here temporarily to load or unload your car. If you have a car, you have to park it at one of the public parking lots in Utrecht Science Park.
