The SSH rents out rooms in two student houses located at the former Stevensfundatie, a name which can still be seen on the front. Here you live at the edge of the city centre, between the Wittevrouwensingel and the Biltstraat. The nice terraces of the Lucas Bolwerk and many restaurants and shops are a short distance away.
A student house at the Kruisstraat consists of two to four rooms. You share a kitchen, a common living room, a bathroom and toilets with your housemates. The rooms are on average 18 m2 in size. There is also an outdoor area, where you can spend time with your housemates and enjoy the sunshine.
|Outdoor area:||yes, shared|
For this building you can apply for rent allowance. You share all the facilities with your housemates. The rental price for a room in a townhouse begins at approximately € 150. In most cases, there will be a joint household account, which is an account with which occupants share the costs between them. These could be costs for, for instance, gas, water and electricity and/or a newspaper subscription. You therefore make a contribution to the joint household account, as well as paying your rent. For more information about a rent allowance, visit www.toeslagen.nl.
How to apply
The rooms in student houses are offered via the website. Click on the button ‘Rent offers’ to check whether there is anything available. Before you can apply, you must first be registered with the SSH. The candidate with the ‘oldest’ registration number will receive an invitation to view the room.
There is a residents’ committee active. For more information, visit their website or Facebook page.
