Living as a student in Tilburg

Tilburg is a real student city with more than 29,000 students from the Netherlands and abroad. Tilburg has a compact atmospheric city centre, with lovely shops and little cafes. Tilburg University is specialized in human sciences and social sciences. Their motto is with good reason ‘Understanding Society’. The university has a compact campus with five faculties, a Business School and various Graduate Schools.

Fontys University of Applied Sciences
Fontys is one of the largest higher education institutions in the Netherlands, offering education in almost every field. In Tilburg you can choose from 83 different courses in several locations. The Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts, is located in the city centre. By far the most courses are taught at the campus Stappegoor. Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Journalism, and Avans-Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Law, are located near to Station Tilburg University.

Avans University of Applied Sciences
Avans provides higher education in eight fields at seven locations in three cities, namely Breda, ’s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg. In Tilburg, the university of applied sciences offers seven courses, mainly in technical fields such as Architecture and Civil Engineering. Together with Fontys, Avans provides the higher professional education course in Law at Avans-Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Law, in Tilburg.
