Reserved accommodation

The SSH rents out furnished rooms and apartments that have been reserved by different educational institutions for their students and staff. This is called 'Reserved Accommodation'.

Albertine Agnesplein

This building on the Albertine Agnusplein is a lovely building in the Oranjebuurt. This former school is located in the heart of a charming family neighbourhood. The beautiful Noorderplantsoen park is within walking distance.

Bisschop Nierman Centrum (BNC)

The Bisschop Nierman Centrum (BNC) on the Plutolaan is a former nursing home, and now a popular location for the international students. This is to be expected: it takes just five minutes to cycle to Zernike Campus and ten minutes to get to the charming city centre of Groningen.

Blekerslaan

Blekerslaan has been an International Student House for many years. It is located in a popular student quarter of Groningen, the Oosterpoort and it is close to the city centre. It will take you approximately five minutes to bike to the city centre and twenty minutes to the Zernike University area.

Frascati International Students House

Frascati International Students House is a newly renovated building right next to the central station.

Hoendiep

Hoendiep is a new studentcomplex in the city of Groningen, exclusively for selected PhD students. On 1 June 2015, this complex has opened its doors. The complex contains 36 individual studios. These studios can be found on the grond floor en first floor of the building.

Hofstede de Grootkade

A new building with luxury studios and apartments. The building is also centrally located: it is five minutes by bicycle to the city centre and ten minutes to Zernike Campus. If you like to relax in green surroundings or go for a run, the nearby beautiful Noorderplantsoen park is the perfect spot.

Kornoeljestraat

One of the features which makes this building popular with international students is its ideal location. It is very close to Zernike Campus and it takes less than ten minutes to cycle to the city centre. There is a bus stop within walking distance.

Kraneweg-Melkweg

Would you like to live in a characteristic building close to the city centre of Groningen? And would you like to share a room with another student and meet new people? The Melkweg/Kraneweg might be the right choice for you.  To Zernike Campus it is only a fifteen minute bike ride.

Martinihouse

A former hotel which has been converted into student accommodation with 62 single rooms and two double rooms. The Martinihouse is in the south of Groningen. You can cycle to the city centre in ten minutes and to Zernike Campus in twenty minutes.

Moesstraat 16

Moesstraat 16 is a small-scale international student house that has a homey atmosphere. A Dutch word that perfectly describes it is 'gezellig'. The building is located between Zernike Campus (ten minutes by bicycle) and the city centre (five minutes by bicycle).

Moesstraat 8

Built around an old clock tower, with a good location in the north of Groningen between Zernike Campus (ten minutes by bicycle) and the city centre (five minutes by bicycle). You can get to the city park in a few minutes.

Planetenlaan

If you enjoy a bit of luxury, choose an apartment in the Planetenlaan building. The location is also ideal – a five minute cycle to Zernike Campus and a ten minute cycle to the city centre. There is a large shopping centre at a five minute walk.

Stadswerf

A new and modern building that is centrally located. It is a ten minute cycle to the city centre and a fifteen minute cycle to Zernike Campus. All apartments in this building are reserved for bursary PhD students of the University of Groningen.

Van Houtenlaan

This former convent to the south of the city centre offers a good place to stay for those with a limited budget. This student house is old and characteristic and offers small rooms. This building will be replaced in the near future. Therefore large improvements will not be made.

Winschoterdiep

A former office of KPN which now houses almost 350 international students in reserved accommodation. It takes five minutes to cycle to the city centre and 25 minutes to cycle to Zernike Campus. All rooms in this building are reserved for Bachelor/Master students .
