Continue your stay in The Netherlands
If you wish to continue your stay in The Netherlands, you can
register with SSH for an unfurnished room (in the Utrecht area). In many cases, you have to be ‘voted in’ (elected) by the other residents of the flat at a so called ‘Present Yourself’ night.
The minimum age for registration with SSH is 17 and the maximum is 27 years of age. A further requirement is that you can producea Dutch tax-number (burgerservicenummer). In order to obtain such number, you need to be formally registered at a legal Dutch address, which can only be done after you have arrived in the Netherlands.
The waiting list for a room in most of these SSH residences ranges from 3 months to over 1 year. For Short Stay residents the first day of the Short Stay housing agreement is considered to be the first day of your registration with SSH - even if you register with SSH on the last day of your Short Stay housing agreement. Please note that you need to inform us via info@sshxl.nl directly after your registration with SSH that you currently live in Short Stay accommodation, then we can adjust your registration start date.
