  1. Is it possible to end my contract earlier than planned?
    This depends on the type of reservation you have. Check the terms & conditions that go with your short stay housing agreement. You can log in and find your specific terms & conditions. You can also find them on the website:
    For “reserved accommodation”
    Go to the homepage, click on the name of your school/university and read the terms & conditions.
    For “Direct Offer”
    Go to the homepage, click on I am looking for accommodation /Direct Offer and read the terms & conditions.
  2. What do I have to do before I leave?
    You have to clean your room, take out all your personal belongings and garbage. Also empty your cupboard in the kitchen and either give your food to your house mates or throw it out. Take away the garbage and clean the apartment together with your flat mates and hand in your keys. Everything must be complete and undamaged. The housing officer will carry out a preliminary inspection of your room and of the communal areas before you leave. The housing officer will contact you about one month before your departure to schedule an inspection.
  3. What time do I have to leave my room?
    If you stay until the last day of your contract, you will have to leave your room and hand in the keys before 10:00 in the morning that day. If you move to another Short Stay room, please contact your housing officer to discuss the options.
  4. I want to continue my stay in The Netherlands, what can I do?
    If you want to stay in Utrecht for more than one year, you can register with SSH for an unfurnished room. Read more. Or register with SSH now!
