Finding a room through SSH Short Stay via Direct Offer

If you want to see the accommodation SSH Short Stay has available at this moment. Click on direct offer. If you want to reserve accommodation you will need to register.

Search for housing
If you want to see the available housing click on the tab "Direct Offer". Fill in the search criteria. The orange boxes are obligatory, the white boxes are optional. Explanation of the terms:

Rental Period
You will only see housing that is available the entire desired rental period. It is possible that you find different (more) accommodation if you shift the first and last day of the desired housing period a couple of days back- or forwards. 
Gender
Apartments with 3 rooms or fewer are same-gender apartments. The first person to reserve a room determines whether the apartment has only male or only female tenants. Apartments with 4 rooms and more have at least two people of the same gender.
Number of Applicants
If you are accompanied by your partner and/or children, you fill out the number people for whom you search housing. Then also fill out “secondary applicant”. If you are only looking for housing for yourself, enter "1".

Then click on 'Search'. You will now see the accommodation that matches your search criteria. Please note that we offer housing accommodation in different cities in The Netherlands, such as Leeuwarden and Utrecht.

If you want to reserve a room, you need to register.

Register
Register on our website www.sshxl.nl/shortstay. Click on “Register” on top of the page. The orange fields are obligatory.
• Enter your personal information.
• When your nationality is not in the list, enter “not in this list”.
• Enter a logon name (you should make one up yourself). -> Click on "Next"

On the next page you will have to enter
• Your address and a valid e-mail address.
• Address: first enter your country, then enter your home address. If your country is not in the list, select any country, then enter your address. And e-mail us your home country.
• Please also enter your (mobile) phone number.

Now you are asked to enter
• Secondary Applicants
If you only need housing for yourself, click on "next". Otherwise click on "Add" and enter the personal information. Click on "next".
• Desired rental period
Enter your rental period. Then tick the box "Housing corporation"
Click on "Finish"

You will receive an e-mail with your user name and password.

Log in
Use your account name and password to log in. Now you can see the accommodation that matches your personal situation. 

Viewing
Did you find a room/apartment you like? If you are in The Netherlands, you can request a viewing with one of the Short Stay employees. Call 030- 25 25 725 and ask for the Short Stay department. You can also mail your request to info@sshxl.nl. It is not obligatory to view a room.

Prices
The prices mentioned in our housing database are monthly rent prices for reservations of a period longer than two months. For reservations of two months or less, different costs apply. Please check with the reservations department of SSH Short Stay for an estimate.

Preliminary reservation
If you want to rent the accommodation you can reserve the room/apartment. You have now made a 'preliminary reservation'. After you have reserved accommodation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. In this mail we confirm that you have made a preliminary reservation. Be aware of the fact that the (preliminary) reservation has financial consequences (see terms and conditions).

SSH Short Stay will check the accommodation details with your personal data. SSH Short Stay can request for a salary payment slip, or confirmation of your employer. SSH Short Stay has the right to cancel your reservation when your personal data do not match the accommodation details or in case of unforeseen circumstances. We aim to contact you within 24 hours, but at the latest within 5 work days about your reservation.

Payment
After receiving the confirmation accommodation mail, you will have to make the first payment. This is the first and last month's rent and the mediation fee.

Mediation fee
The mediation fee for renting our accommodation equals one month's rent, plus V.A.T. (19%) per reservation. If your rental period is two months or less, the mediation fee equals half a month's rent excluding V.A.T. (19%).  Different rent costs apply for reservations of two months or less. Contact us to receive an estimate.

Definite reservation
After you have made the first payment the reservation for your accommodation is definite. This means the accommodation will be reserved for you.

Rental agreement
After the first payment and signing the rental agreement you will receive a confirmation of the definite reservation via mail.
